Working in the Portuguese Securities and Exchange Commission for over 20 years, Maria Carvalho Martins, has had the opportunity, both at national and international level, to deal with a large number of asset management companies, credit institutions and investment firms, at an initial stage (even before their authorization) and on an ongoing basis, in an operational and supervisory context.

Maria has also actively participated in working groups sponsored by the former CESR, currently ESMA, helping to develop sectorial guidelines and actively providing assistance in the drafting of sectorial reports and other regulatory initiatives.

With her vast experience in regulatory, governance and compliance matters,, Maria proposes creative solutions and enthusiastically helps the clients to build bridges internally and cross border.
